Stress and Travel

Travelling – whether it’s a drive to the next city or a flight to another country – is inherently stressful for your body, even when the trip is enjoyable. In addition to usual the felt stresses of planning, getting there on schedule, navigating your new surroundings, and protecting your health, there are a number of physiological changes that can make the experience of being in a moving vehicle unpleasant and physically stress your body.

Your senses (inner ears, eyes; skin pressure receptors, muscle and joint proprioceptors, and central nervous system) control your sense of balance by reporting the orientation and direction of movement of your body to your brain. The typical nausea and dizziness of motion sickness happens when the incoming sensory information conflicts. For example, in a plane in flight, your inner ears and proprioceptors sense the motion, but your eyes only see the stationary cabin interior.

Some of the discomforts of travel are also caused by changes in electrolyte and fluid balances in your body and brain causing local swelling, stiffness and headache. Dehydration, which often results from travel, can cause headaches, lethargy, constipation and general malaise. Being aware of and taking measures to minimize these changes will allow you to arrive at your destination feeling fresher and less stressed.

 Product Q & A

What is Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air?
Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air is a unique formula for motion comfort.* It contains homeopathic, botanical and nutritional ingredients that promote a sense of physical well-being while experiencing motion.* This exceptional supplement can help make traveling so much more enjoyable if you often experience discomfort from motion.* It provides nontoxic, non-drowsy aid to the traveler, without any negative side effects.*

How does Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air work?
Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air synergistically combines botanical, nutritional and homeopathic ingredients used traditionally for motion comfort that have been shown to promote a sense of well-being in those areas of your body most affected by riding in moving vehicles such as cars, planes and boats.* For example, ginger has been shown in scientific studies to effectively ease the stomach and have a positive impact on joint comfort, mobility and swelling – a useful feature when you are sitting for long periods of time.* Some of the discomforts of travel are caused by changes in electrolyte and fluid balances in the body. Vitamin B6 has been shown in scientific studies to help normalize distribution of fluids in the body, including in the brain.* B6 also helps reduce the dehydration that often results from air travel and that is considered to be a contributor to motion discomfort.* This combination of ingredients is unique, works exceptionally well, and has been used safely for many years.*

How quickly will Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air begin to work?
Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air begins working almost immediately. However, allow at least thirty minutes to experience its full effects.*

How should I take Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air?
Take 1 capsule with water 30 minutes before travel, and every 4 hours, as needed. If desired, an additional capsule can be taken before departure. Pregnant women should not exceed 4 capsules per 24 hours, or should take as directed by your health practitioner.* Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air capsules are small enough for most people to swallow without difficulty, and can easily be pulled apart and the contents added to a little water or juice for those who cannot swallow them whole. As with any supplement, do not give whole capsules to young children. Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air offers the added convenience that everyone old enough to take supplements can use the same product (some people have even reported success giving it to their even dogs).* Adults usually need no more than 1-2 capsules at a time.* We intentionally packaged the capsules in a compact container that easily fits in a pocket, purse, tote bag, ditty bag, glove compartment or any little nook and cranny. The convenient design of the bottle neck allows it to be tied to a person, bag or stationary part of a boat to prevent it from being lost.

How often can I take Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air?
Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air can be taken every 4-6 hours, if desired. However, many people will only opt to take it once during their trip.* Pregnant women should not exceed 4 capsules per 24-hour period.

When should I take Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air?
Take Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air 30-45 minutes before you enter the vehicle. After you are underway, you can take Land, Sea & Air every 4-6 hours, as desired. Because of the ginger content, we recommend that pregnant women do not exceed 4 capsules per 24-hour period.

Does Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air lose its effectiveness with continued use?
No. Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air provides the same support every time you take it.*

Who can take Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air?
Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air was designed to be a choice for those who want to remain comfortable riding in vehicles on the water, in the air or on land.* We recommend that pregnant women limit their intake to no more than 4 capsules in any 24-hour period. Although the capsules are small, they should only be given whole to someone who can swallow a capsule. Those who cannot may open the capsule and sprinkle the mild-tasting contents into a small glass of water or juice.

Can I take too much Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air?
We recommend that adults do not exceed 6 capsules per 24 hours, and pregnant women and children do not exceed 4 capsules per 24 hours.* Many people tell us that after taking Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air 30-45 minutes before their travel begins, they do not need any additional doses.* Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air ingredients are designed to work effectively so that often only one dose is necessary.*

Does Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air have any side effects?
Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air has no known adverse side effects; however, certain drugs may interact with this product. You are probably aware that ginger has safely been used traditionally for morning sickness by pregnant women for over a century.* However, there are some studies that indicate that in extremely high quantities, ginger may be a contributing factor in miscarriage.* The high doses used in these studies appear to be the critical factor. Lower doses have not shown this effect.* We used these studies as a guideline to make sure Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air is safe for pregnant women too.* The amount of ginger contained in 4 capsules per 24 hours is well below the dose used in these studies.* However, in order to be completely safe, we recommend that pregnant women follow the guideline of not exceeding 4 capsules per 24 hours.*

Are there any special precautions needed in storing Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air?
Dr. Wilson’s Land, Sea & Air should be stored away from direct sunlight, preferably at temperatures not exceeding 85°F. Do not place near strong smelling substances such as menthol, mint, bleach, witch hazel, gas or perfume.
